A 56-year-old Asian man was beaten repeatedly in yet another unprovoked attack outside a Lower East Side subway station in New York City, police said.

The NYPD told NextShark that police responded to a 911 call of an assault in front of 162 East Broadway at around 8:52 p.m. on Tuesday.

“The 56-year-old male victim who stated that as he was entering the F-line train station at East Broadway and Rutgers Street an unknown male struck him in the face without provocation,” police said.

ABC7’s CeFaan Kim obtained exclusive footage of the attack:

The victim fell to the ground and hit his head. That’s when the unidentified man struck him multiple times before fleeing into the F-line train station.

The victim sustained non-life-threatening head injuries and was transported via EMS in stable condition to NYC Health + Hospitals/Bellevue, where he was treated and released, according to police.

No arrests have been made at this time and an investigation into the incident is ongoing.

The incident is the latest in a string of assaults against Asian Americans in New York and other cities such as Oakland and San Francisco.
