A lot of Filipinos don't even know that they shouldn't say the N word. They assume it's ok becuase Black people use that word to refer to themselves. I even had a professor in College who kept referring to Black people as N this, N that until a Filam Balikbayan corrected her. Needless to say my professor was taken aback because she couldn't comprehend how a word can be forbidden from being uttered by others when that particular ethnic group uses it generously to describe themselves and their own people.
