Workers said a man walked into the Asian Market at Eastway Drive and The Plaza Monday afternoon and threatened them. One employee said his co-workers are scared to return and now are looking for other jobs.

Some employees said they are worried about retaliation and that this case could hurt nearby businesses.
A worker caught the incident on video. The outburst was filled with profanities and racial remarks.
Police arrested Robert Cooke on Monday. He is accused of threatening to assault an employee because of the employee’s race.
Surveillance video showed Cooke attempting to steal razors and Q-tips but employees blocked him from leaving, according to an arrest report.
“You know, this is a misdemeanor and when I get out in a couple of hours. I am going to come back and kill you Asians and break these windows,” Cooke could be heard saying in the video.
Cook also said the people in the store should go back to their country, according to the arrest report.
Police were called to the store and found the items on Cooke. He was then arrested.
“It is better for us to have a more general understanding that we should help each other out instead of, ‘Go back to your home country,’” said customer and China-native Yixyan Wang. “I feel a little bit frustrated. We have been through a lot. A long time of stuff like fighting against the racism.”
Cooke is in the Mecklenburg County Jail charged with ethnic intimidation and robbery with a dangerous weapon.

A sixth-grade Asian student has reportedly been diagnosed with post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) after being assaulted by four male schoolmates in New York City a little more than a week ago.
The student, identified only as Emma, is an immigrant currently enrolled at George J. Ryan Junior High School (J.H.S. 216) in Fresh Meadows, Queens. She has limited English proficiency.
On June 16, four schoolmates allegedly ganged up to harass and attack Emma. Photos posted on Instagram show injuries she purportedly sustained from the assault.
It is unclear where exactly the alleged attack took place. City Council 2021 candidate Yi Chen, who shared the images online, said Emma did not receive medical treatment following the incident.
Emma was recently diagnosed with PTSD and remains in “a lot of pain,” Chen noted. But she may not be alone as there have been other bullying allegations at George J. Ryan Junior High School.
“Despite several witnesses’ accounts, the incident was neglected and not fairly treated by the school till today,” Chen wrote on Sunday. “It is also reported that there have been two or three other bullying [incidents] in the school.”
Activists and community members are planning to hold a rally in front of the school at 64-20 175th St. at 1:30 p.m. today.
SAN JOSE, Calif. - San Jose police have arrested four suspects following a violent string of home invasions, including occasions where several men bound an elderly couple with belts before stealing their bank cards and jewelry and then continued on to hold a father and toddler at gunpoint.
Police on Thursday said they have arrested three men and a minor for some of these robberies. Booked into custody are: Armando Manzano, 19; Daniel Mendez, 19; Eduardo Santiago, 23; and a 17-year-old who wasn't identified.
Sgt. Christian Camarillo used the arrests as an opportunity to push for higher bail amounts, singling out Manzano, who was arrested on another charge two days prior to the robbery one.
"We're frustrated," he said. "Suspects need to remain in custody. We need higher bails."
More suspects are likely outstanding.
The first home invasion was reported on May 31 at 3:50 p.m. in the 600 block of North Capitol Avenue.
Police said five or six suspects bound an elderly couple with belts, brandished a handgun, and violently assaulted the victims. Then, police said, they stole various personal items, including bank cards, jewelry, and the couple's car before fleeing.
The couple's car was then used shortly afterward at a second home invasion in the 1000 block of Summerdale Drive.
Five suspects held a father and his 15-month-old at gunpoint, police said.
The suspects threatened to shoot the child and kidnapped the father, forcing him to go to his bank, demanding that he withdraw money from his account, police said.
The suspects returned with the father to his home and stole various personal items, including bank cards, and jewelry. The suspects were captured on a dash camera fleeing from the scene by the man's wife as she came home, police said.
Then, on June 7 at about 12:15 p.m., a third home invasion occurred in the 4000 block of Bolero Drive.
Two male suspects held an elderly couple at gunpoint, and violently assaulted them, police said.
The suspects rummaged through the home and attempted to steal various items.
One of the victims was able to contact police during the home invasion.
Responding officers arrested two suspects – Manzano and Mendez – as they fled from the scene.
They were booked into the Santa Clara County Main Jail for felony robbery charges.
During the investigation, detectives identified two additional suspects, Santiago and the teen. Both were arrested after police searched their homes and found stolen property inside.
News of the arrests will likely ease the minds of Berryessa neighbor SandeepPotdar who told KTVU last month that 40 neighborhood residents have joined an online watch group. Many residents have been afraid to let their children play outside.
"It’s disrupted everything. Peace in the neighborhood," said Potdar. "We used to keep our doors open, your windows open. We’ve just kept everything closed. I’ve upgraded some of the locks and security. And it’s just a very scary feeling."

Man Killed In Road Rage Shooting In Springfield Identified, Authorities Say
By CBS3 StaffJune 30, 2022 at 9:43 amFiled Under:Delaware County news, Springfield News
SPRINGFIELD, Pa. (CBS) — Authorities are investigating a deadly shooting on the roads of Delaware County. Investigators say it was a case of road rage.
Police are searching for the person who pulled up to a vehicle and fatally shot another driver on a busy road in Springfield Township. A bullet hole is visible in the windshield of the victim’s car left on State Road/Route 1 near Meetinghouse Lane.
Top VIt’s really unnerving and a little scary,” Jackie Washco, who heard the shooting, said.
It happened just before 8:45 a.m. Wednesday.
Delaware County District Attorney Jack Stollsteimer says a man and woman in a dark-colored SUV pulled up next to a white Toyota while both were stopped in traffic.
The man, who was the passenger, then stepped outside of the SUV and shot into the windshield of the Toyota, Stollsteimer says. The gunman then got back into the SUV and the female driver sped off.
“Actually, two victims were in the vehicle,” Stollsteimer said. “One was struck. It’s the driver, the male. There was a passenger in the vehicle as well.”
Stollsteimer identified the victim as King Hua, a 54-year-old Vietnamese immigrant who lives in Springfield.
“We are all working together,” Stollsteimer said. “The entire Delaware County law enforcement community has made it a priority to solve this case and to bring Mr. Hua’s killer to justice.”
Springfield Township Police Chief Joe Daly called the incident a “horrendous, unnecessary death of an individual for nothing more than some imaginary traffic violation.”
“What we believe from witnesses, from what we’re hearing from witnesses, this was a road rage incident over a vehicle moving slower than the rest of traffic. That’s what this appears to be, nothing more,” Daly said. “A man lost his life today over driving his car too slow in rush hour traffic.”
Washko lives nearby and heard the gunshots. She says after the driver was shot, he lost control and hit another vehicle that landed in the middle of the road.
“It looked like he was shot in the shoulder and the face, the left side,” Washco said.
You can see the damage to the right side of the car. The passenger then got out and ran to the nearest house.
“I go to check the door and a woman’s screaming to me, she’s like ‘help! Somebody help. Call 911. My husband’s dead.’ So I called 911,” Washko said.
A good Samaritan who witnessed the chaos got out of her car and provided first aid to the driver until paramedics arrived. But Hua succumbed to his injuries at the hospital.
“Anybody who saw anything, if you can please come forward,” Stollsteimer said. “It may not mean a lot to you, but it may help the investigators piece what happened here this morning and help us bring the perpetrator to justice.”
Police say the suspects were in a dark-colored SUV, but they don’t know the exact make, model or specific color.
“I’m going to hunt you down and we’re going to lock you up,” Daly said.
There is no danger to the community.
Police are trying to pull surveillance video from nearby houses in hopes it could provide some clues as to the killer’s identity.
“This is a tragedy, which broke tranquility in this town today,” Springfield Township Commissioner Jeff Rudolph said. “And I need to tell the residents that we will not stop, as DA Stollsteimer, said until this crime is solved.”
