The main difference between Donald Trump and Joe Biden is Trump wants to decouple against China economically, While Biden wants to gang up on China.

Actually before Pompeo left office, they were close to war, china issued an ultimatum if the UN ambassador lands in Taiwan, its air force will overfly Taiwan. That's why Pompeo pulled his last round of ambassador visits, then fired his parting shot on Jan 19th by declaring Xinjiang genocide.
somewhere in January the U.S wanted to send a high-ranking official to Taiwan and China promised to intercept it. I believe it was canceled because Trump was in the transaction period. I don't believe the U.S was seriously going to do it because of the timing. I think it's just Trump's strategy to get re-elected in 2024.
You guys may not like Trump but at least the Chinese officials can sit down to make a deal & talk numbers with Donald Trump. Joe Biden however will bring a lefty attitude to the table. Just look at the first meeting, it already hostile. I can't imagine the relationship getting better in the next 4 years.

it will get better because fundamentally liberals are interested in social issues. china had to push back because Biden's administration had to look tough for the domestic audience, fundamentally both sides want to back down.
