In general, the Africans are more gifted in music than Asians.  If Asians were gifted in music then we would be hearing their style of music on the radio. The fresh off the boat Africans from Africa are heavily influence by westerners such as African Americans. Africans add their own style and accent but the music reminds me still of either Reggaeton or Hip-Hop.

True. You don't really hear any Asian music becoming popular in America or anywhere in the West except those K-pop boy or girl bands but they are heavily influenced by Western culture anyway.

Even if you counted traditional music without western influence, Africans seem to be talented in it than Asians do.

More modern African music:

They should play these music on the radio or wherever. These musicians and singers have talent.  If they played their music here in the states, they would have a large following.  People are missing out on some splendid music here.

Agree but i have an impression that East/SE Asians don't  have diverse and varied tastes in music like latinos, westerners, arabs or south asians like pakistanis, indians do..

Because in the YouTube comment section of thse african music especially afrobeats songs, most of the commenters who aren't from africa, were surprisingly from latin american countries and followed by some Arabs and South Asians like Pakistani, Indian. But I have never seen or hardly seen any comment there from East Asian or SE Asian countries like china, japan, thailand, indonesia, philippines, etc

I think latin americans and some middle easterners, pakistanis, indians have much more diverse and varied taste in music than east/se asians like chinese, thai, Indonesian, filipino, japanese people.

I noticed Asians (not counting Indians, Pakistanis etc here as they have more diverse and varied musical taste) tend to listen to only their own music from their countries, western music (mainly america/british) k-pop, j-pop and maybe c-pop that's it. I also noticed that most Asian countries Including Thailand don't listen to Spanish speaking music from Latin America or Spain.

If Filipinos in the Philippines heard this stuff then they would be commenting as well however in general Filipinos listen to American music while several youngsters listen to K-Pop. If you ever visit the malls in the Philippines, they have these boy/girl dance groups that dance to hip-hop music from the states. There are also singers and bands that play these types of music at events, nightclubs, and studios. They seem to get a large crowd to watch them. The young generation of Filipinos are the only demographic that listens to this genre.  I got impression that Latinos, Westerners, South Indians, Arabs would be the ones listening to these types of music.

Do you think these types of songs would become popular in the Phils among young Pinoys?

Yes these types of music genre are very popular among Africans, Latinos, many Westerners and many South Asians. East/SE Asians seem to be the only one who don't listen to them.

Those are splendid music but in order to become popular in the Philippines they would have to be westernize. The young Filipinos are the ones who will be listening and dancing to this type of music genre. One way to find out if the music is popular among youngsters is when it's played in the malls and public transportation.  They try to cater to a younger audience.

These songs are still not westernized enough in your opinion?

Some actually are okay enough to be popular but others may need a bit little more bass music background to make it popular.

Despacito song was popular in the Philippines a few years ago but young Filipinos prefer American songs in general.

It was popular here in thailand as well. And then after that I never heard any Latino songs here again. It seems to be the only Spanish song that is known here. Thai locals and other Asians in general don't listen to Spanish music.

Spanish songs are only popular in Philippines if it was also popular among non-Hispanics in U.S.A.
