This map suggest that Blue Fish site in the Yukon Territory of Canada near Alaska is dated at 24,000 which makes it the oldest artifact ever discovered in the Americas thus far and this coincides with the history of Native American Indian migration from Siberia through Beringia and Alaska before settling down to North and South America. The Native American Indians moved rapidly as they settled down in South America as early as 22,000 years ago in Toca Da Tira Peia in Brazil however several Native American Indian settlements are dated in the 15,000 years ago range.
Some Native American Indians were able to grow extremely tall and they were considered the tallest people in the world on average at the time. I'm referring to the Patagonian Indians (Patagonian Giants) located in Chile and Argentina. They were not only tall but they could also grow facial hair such as moustache and beard which several Native American Indians were not known for, ( exceptions were Haida Indians of the Pacific Northwest maybe because they have Polynesian genes and there were few more exceptions in the west coast.)
On 31 March 1520 the Spanish expedition, under the command ofFernando de Magallanes, landed inSan Julián Bayto spend the winter there. Here, they made contact with Tehuelche indigenous groups, who they referred to as "Patagones", as told by the scribe,Antonio Pigafetta. Pigaffetta described these people as a mythical tribe ofPatagonian giants.[3]
Prior to meeting the Tehuelche groups in person, the explorers had been amazed by the size of their footprints. Enlarged by the animal furs they used as footwear, their feet were much larger than those of the Europeans at the time. During the 16th century, the average male height of Europeans at 5 feet, 5 inches[25] would have been shorter than the Patagonian men whose height reportedly averaged above 2 meters (by some accounts, 6 feet, 7 inches). Thus the Europeans may have considered them to be "Patones" (‘large footed’) or the Patagonians may have reminded the explorers of the giantPathoagónfrom the knighthood novelPrimaleón.[5]The Patagonians' largecraniometrymade them famous in European literature from the 16th to the 19th centuries due to their large stature and physical strength.
