Our interaction with them is basically just going to the restaurants or buying noodles at their grocery store.

 overall we don't interact with them because of cultural differences and language barriers.

@melanie

you live in Asia, or abroad?

but well in Manila they seem to just stick with themselves, unless they grew up as Filipinos who are fluent in Tagalog/filipino languages...then in this case they blend in very easily with the rest of the regular filipinos. Language to me is key, if one is fluent in Tagalog then they will have great advantage within the culture-core.

@melanie

 There's thousands of Filipinos working in Hong Kong and Singapore.

Yes there are Filipinos in Hong Kong and Singapore.  I can't testify on their behalf because I do not have that experience

@melanie

I'm sure you know someone that can tell you how they were treated in Hong Kong or Singapore.

 I used to work for a Chinese grocery  and a Chinese restaurant.

I find Chinese business practices as extremely dishonest but that's another story.

Being around them I realize that being cold hearted is very normal to their standards.

@naval

I'm assuming the only reason why they hired you is because you can pass as Chinese? am I right?

Yes

Most of them treat us like crap and they are extremely racist to us especially in Hong Kong and Singapore.

 You can't generalize the entire population. Some of the Chinese in Southeast Asia have intermarried with the locals.

 those Chinese who have been here for centuries usually treat the locals very good but the new arrivals from China usually have a hard time adapting to our culture.
