Lima residents show predominant traces of indigenous ancestry in their DNA, although mixed with European descent due to the 500-year colonial rule.
The people of Lima have mostly indigenous blood.
The inhabitants of Lima have 68% indigenous blood, according to a study by National Geographic. The genetic samples collected establish that the inhabitants of our capital are predominantly indigenous.
Its genetic code also reflects a significant mix with European populations, due to 500 years of colonial times. The samples presented 15% of Mediterranean origin, 10% of northern Europe and 3% of components from Southwest Asia.
The latter would reflect the ancient migrations that occurred in Europe during the last 40 thousand years. There is also 2% of origin from sub-Saharan Africa, due to the significant slave trade between the 16th and 19th centuries.
On the other hand, the inhabitants of the Andean regions are 95% indigenous, with a small amount of European mix that reaches only 4%.
The project of the American magazine National Geographic looked for the routes that our ancestors followed since they left Africa 60 thousand years ago, through DNA samples from different people around the globe.
Since its launch in 2005, the project has used advanced DNA analysis and worked with indigenous communities to help answer fundamental questions about the origin of humans and how we came to populate the Earth.

One of the biggest misconceptions regarding mongoloids is the assumption that they are by default a "pale" race, or at least a very light yellow one. But the modal color of the mongoloid race is actually brown, with only a very tiny percentage of the northern Han or Japanese being of a "pseudo-pale" complexion. This and misunderstandings about their basic skull shape leads to a lot of people not comprehending how Native Americans are racially mongoloid. But regardless of skin tone, East Eurasians are all genetically similar, including even Bengali who are some of the darkest mongoloids. The ONLY race that "leans pale" on a general level are Caucasoids/West Eurasians, as even most Arabs and Nafris will turn an exceedingly pale color with a lack of sun. The modal color for Caucasoids is a light tan that is found around the northern and eastern parts of the Mediterranean. This color however is only found in the palest of Mongoloids.

Regarding the skull shape, it is more important to focus on the width of the skull and nose and the flattened profile. Eye shapes are actually fairly diverse among all Mongoloids although all or most have some version of the altered eye fold.
