SoCal Lyft driver left bloodied after a vicious attack by passenger

Ye Lu says the attack took place on the morning of August 1 when authorities picked up a passenger identified as 23-year-old Michael Trunko.
Lou said Trunko wanted to load his DJ equipment in the backseat, but Lou said he couldn’t. Lou explained to Trunko that he could only bring something that fits in the trunk of the car.
In the audio captured from Lou’s dashcam, passengers can hear saying, “If I can’t use the backseat, you’ll be fired.”
Lou says it was when Trunko started beating him and his car with a metal mic stand. He was able to escape the attack and turned to 911 for help.
“Someone attacked me!” Lou tells the coordinator.
“I think I’ll die!” He repeatedly called and explained that his head was bleeding.
According to booking information, Trunko was arrested shortly afterwards by the Juloppa Valley police, who had been booked at Robert Pressley Detention Center. He has been rescued and has a court date set on December 20 for felony robbery, robbery and vandalism.
NSGoFundMe pageLou was founded to help pay for his heavy medical costs and damage to his car.
Lu is also supported online by Torsten Kunert, who runs the YouTube channel Rideshare Professor. Kunert has posted a dashcome video of Lu and is an advocate for gig workers.
