What do you mean by The Matrix

generally speaking... "The Matrix" is basically a 'virtual reality'

for instance...according to Immanuel Kant there is what philosophers call the "Phenomena" vs the "Noumena". Phenomena being the world as how YOU see it vs the Noumena which is the world as it actually is. The individual is trapped in this sort of 'prison' of the mind with only your very own subjective impressions you can ever truly have contact with or rely on and know. We cannot truly ever know the true nature of the 'Noumena'. If it truly is the brain which produces 'consciousness', then that brain is limited in every regard to its limitations(the spectacles with which one sees the world). The individual is therefore trapped in the system, ultimately speaking.
