Filipino-Americans especially were into funk dances (all types) in the 1980s and on. In order to get into funk dances, you have to listen to and like funk styles of music such as hip hop, rap, r&b, and closely related forms such as freestyle music, and Filipino-Americans were definitely into all those types of music (as well as other music too such as soft rock and new wave). Furthermore, a specific type of funk dance (such as popping) requires a specific type of funk music in order to dance to it. Everything goes hand in hand.
There's also a good amount of Asians that do magic and skill activities. You can see a good amount enter the talent shows, and some like Shin Lim have won America's Got Talent and has a Las Vegas show of his own. Shin Lim specializes in close up magic especially with cards. If you ever watch a Cirque Du Soleil show, there's usually a few Asians. Cirque du Soleil and other circus shows utilize a lot of acts or apparatuses that originate from Asia and the Pacific such as the diabolo (aka Chinese yo-yo), devil sticks, teeterboard (aka Korean plank), Chinese pole, contortion acts, plate spinning, hoop diving, poi spinning, and bian lian (face-changing), and possibly club juggling. Asians (from all parts of Asia and the Pacific) have also been practicing acrobatics and various forms of juggling (various types of balls, knives, swords, umbrellas, and pots juggling with hand, feet, head, and other parts of the body) for a very long time.
Flag spinning (as in color guard) may originate in China. The Chinese are also known to incorporate acrobatic acts with their flag spinning performances.
Fire eating appears to originate from India.
Firewalking is found throughout much of Asia and the Pacific, but also outside of Asia.
Posted by: @prau123Posted by: @j-r-cBruno Mars. Hopefully in the next few decades more Filipino artists will reach the global mainstream
Bruno Mars is a great artists, and one of the most successful of all time. He can sing, dance, and perform (as in acting). Not too many people can do all three.
Many Filipino artist are better than Bruno Mars but the problem is the distribution. If Philippine recoding conpanies are connected with American and Canadian companies then the audience for Filipino artist will be multiply to 10x to 50x fold
