Why does it seem like Filipinos show much more interest in Spanish/Hispanic and American culture than in their precolonial culture and history?

Hispanic and American culture is part of their history, so it's normal for them to learn their history.

majority of Filipinos are very interested in learning about the history of the Austronesian race, I don't know where the OP is getting this vibe.

Because I see a lot of Pinoys online who seem more interest in seeing the similarities between them and Latinos than they do to their ancient history.

Well, the Philippines were a Spanish colony for 333 years and an American commonwealth for 5 decades.

it's just you. we have an entire website and forums dedicated to preserving Austronesian/Tai/Kihn history throughout continents.

the history with Filipino-Hispanic is no more than 15-20 threads at most.

maybe because those Filipinos live in the U.S or Canada. If you live in Canada, you would understand that schools teach us to learn from one another.
