I did my research, Asians have different holidays than Christmas, Asians have these lights to attract spirits of good luck. Asians don't give out Christmas presents but give out good luck gifts to attract spirits. 

@kbella I believe in China. they give out a nice red envelope filled with money and a letter saying wish you alot of money. But I think that would be on new years.
