To be fair, Defunding the police isn't the only cause of rising crimes. Lack of job opportunity decreases the middle class in which results in higher crime rates.
@dyno there is not a lack of job opportunities. At least for low levels jobs. I've seen countless ads on restaurants for workers. Just this last weekend I saw several fast food restaurant advertised $16-$18/hr. Defunding the police is one leg. Lax criminal laws, ie in California theft below $930 (?) is not prosecutable or that "violent" crimes are now re-defined as those that involves injury to a person. ie robbery at gunpoint is not violent for example bc there's no injury or if you have a violent prior crime but your most current crime wasn't (ie robbery, drug trafficking, etc...) then that previous crime didn't show up on your sentencing, etc... I can't present exhaustive list but one can look it up. Lots of manipulation to the enforcement of the law.
