Has anyone seen the animated movie? 
 
 
If you have seen the movie, did the movie represent Southeast Asians or ASEAN members?
 
 
If you have not seen the movie but only the movie trailer and poster, then does she appear typical Filipina or from another Southeast Asian country?
 
 
It's also possible that Raya could be what a Southeast Asian would appear like if she had ancestry of every ASEAN country and therefore she could pass up anywhere in Southeast Asia.

Philippines really does not have a lot of mythical dragons compared to other countries but here's one that's recognizable in Filipino folklore.  Movie trailer really looks cool, I'll watch it.

Dragons & snakes are seen as evil through Filipinos eyes, while it's the total opposite in Chinese culture.

Southeast Asians in general have only few dragons myths compared to other countries.
