Latinos in Latin countries are viewed as more similar than they are different to one another. A Mexican is similar to a Central American as they are to a Caribbean and a South American. Several view Latinos as one people for the most part.
Genetics:
They are genetically similar since Native American Indians across the American continent are similar to begin with.
Predominantly Latin American countries were settled by Iberians(Spanish and Portuguese) and they are also genetically similar however there are Latin countries that do have a sizeable population of Europeans such as Italians.
Most of the Africans were from West Africa though some were from Central Africa, few from East Africa.
Culture:
Latinos in general view themselves similar. They value family and friends. They have large families and extended families and they visit each other frequently. They gather quite regularly at restaurants, bars, markets, etc... They also enjoy music, singing, playing instruments, partying and dancing but it varies from region to region. Young Latinos dress similar since they appear more like they are ready to go to a nightclub, bars or at a party. When Latinos dress up in their traditional clothes then we see both similarities and differences.
Language:
They predominantly speak Spanish and Portuguese while some speak their Native Indigenous language.
Sports:
Predominantly Soccer while Baseball are played in Caribbean countries and Venezuela. They also play different sports.
Religion:
Roman Catholics
Food:
Food is probably the only aspect that sets them apart.
Mexican food is similar across but it also varies in each state.
Central American food is for the most part considered similar.
Caribbean food is more similar than different.
I've heard South American food is similar by region. Colombian food is similar to Peruvian, Ecuadorian while Uruguay and Argentina have similar dishes to one another.
However some food such as Empanadas, Chorizos and Leche Flans are found throughout Latin America.
