Here's an update on some of the new discoveries in recent years in the Mesoamerican region. Tonina - Considered the new tallest structure in Mesoamerica. It's debatable since El Mirador is actually 172 meters tall. The largest structure is still Cholula. There are still several areas in the El Mirador Basin that needs to be excavated and measured. College students are not taking up archaeology as a major since there has only been a total of 75,000. School institutions should encourage students to learn archaeology during grade schools. High school should provide one class on anthropology as an elective subject. There should be field trips to museums and archaeological sites also. As a result there will be more youngster taking up anthropology/archaeology in universities and colleges.

Personally I've never attempted to look and dig up anything underneath the ground. One of the coolest things I ever found were vintage marble toys.
