Anasazi | Ancient Native American Road Engineers

Did you know Native Americans were North America’s first road engineers? Over 1,000 years ago, the Ancestral Puebloans—also known as the Anasazi— built stunning cliffside homes at Mesa Verde, carefully crafted from stone and adobe. These multi-story structures still cling to the rock after more than a millennium. But what most people don’t know is that they also built an incredible road network at Chaco Canyon. These roads were perfectly straight, with leveled ground, stone curbs, ramps, and stairways connecting sacred sites and communities across the desert. Spanning a potential 1,500 miles, the Chaco Canyon road system shows just how advanced and organized the Ancestral Puebloans were. They weren’t just cliff architects—they were master engineers who shaped their world in ways we’re still uncovering today.

Everything We Thought About Peru’s First Civilization Might Be Wrong

Join me on a boots-on-the-ground exploration of Taukachi-Konkan, a mysterious pre-Columbian pyramid complex hidden deep in Peru’s Casma Valley, where newly uncovered monumental architecture is rewriting the timeline of the Americas' oldest civilizations. This expedition investigates rarely seen ruins near the famous Sechín Alto, uncovering bones, pottery, and structures that may predate even the sacred city of Caral. With drone footage revealing massive pyramids and sunken circular plazas, we delve into groundbreaking discoveries dating as far back as 3600 BCE, connecting lost cultures across the Casma, Fortaleza, and Supe Valleys. This journey also documents endangered archaeological sites threatened by agriculture and challenges could both challenge and validate some of the mainstream narratives about the origins of Andean civilization. Could this region hold the key to a lost culture older and more widespread than we ever believed possible?
