The frontline medical practitioners such as doctors, nurses, emergency responders, and other staff workers as well as pharmacist, and plus more have been infected tremendously with this pandemic crisis. There's a demand for more healthcare workers as replacements as well as an increase in demand due to an increase in the number of infected with the virus.

There has already been an increase of enrollment prior to the pandemic and it's expected to increase even more so in the next several years.

Is the medical field growing?

Employment in healthcare occupations is projected to grow 15 percent from 2019 to 2029, much faster than the average for all occupations, adding about 2.4 million new jobs. Healthcare occupations are projected to add more jobs than any of the other occupational groups.

Is the medical field growing or shrinking?

The healthcare industry will continue to drive the nation's employment growth through 2026 by adding around 4 million new jobs, accounting for about a third of total job growth, according to Bureau of Labor Statistics data released earlier this week.

 Why are medical jobs in demand?

Due to the increased aging population, healthcare requirements will lead to an increased demand for occupational therapy assistants by as much as 29 percent by 2026. This massive hiring growth potential in the field means that job prospects are very favorable and will likely be for years.

Why is healthcare growing rapidly?

There are many reasons why this industry is growing so quickly. ... Another reason the healthcare industry is growing is because of the aging baby boomer population. More Americans are 65 years or older, meaning they're more likely to seek medical care as they develop the health problems that come with old age.

@jaenelle

However some of them are having a difficult time finding a job since several companies do prefer a younger employee.

We won't know as of yet if people are actually entering the medical field more so than before until we are back to normal which means colleges/universities are completely open to the public however it's expected that there will be more enrollment.

As mentioned before, the medical field was increasing yearly prior to this pandemic and they have already anticipated an increase in enrollment in the coming years however the pandemic will likely increase it even more than what was predicted.
