I agree that tech is what matters the most however the other countries tech are not too far behind. Numbers of ships do matter still and it's poses a threat to it's neighboring countries that have only a few navies with even lesser advance tech. If a war broke out, those numbers would have devastating effects even with international navies being involved such as the U.S., however the outcome result would be in favor of the allies. These countries produced several ships on purpose because they could make up what they don't have in technology by producing more ships.

yes, I do have relatives that either still work or have worked in the navy. They're usually gone for several months on the sea or at another country.
I knew it since your Filipino you guys should know how the navy works. My brother was in the Navy when I visited him, I saw Filipinos.
Filipinos are seafarers and that's why they prefer to join the Navy compared to the other Armed Forces. There are Filipinos who joined the Coast Guard also.

it's a different type of warfare. the Vietnamese were fighting in their home turfs jungle. A war with China will take place in the ocean first.
Tensions are mounting on the high seas as skirmishes continues on for the next few months with some ceasefires in between. The international waters should have never been a warzone but it did eventually.
