I have actually never heard Cholo used in Philippines myself. I've only heard them use Mestizo but it's often a general term for any Filipino who has a certain percentage of any European admixture today whether the person has 25%, 50%, 75% but it was originally referring to Filipinos with Spanish Ancestry. I'm sure Spaniards used a more specific term back in those days such as Cholos, Mestizos, Castizos describing Filipinos with a certain percentage ratio of Native Indio admixture and Spanish admixture but today they call them Mestizo regardless of what percentage.
yeah he passes up as a Filipino who has 1/4th European or in this case South Indian Ancestry and therefore he would not pass up as a pure/indigenous Filipino.
Indians in India probably view him as atypical Indian.
I C. That makes sense.
Since he can pass as only a mixed Pinoy with 1/4 Euro or South Indian ancestry, would overall his look be atypical/uncommon in the Phils and only limited to certain areas like Bicol or Zamboanga?
Yep they could think he is an atypical Indian. His ethnic group btw: they seem to be a mix between Austroasiatic East Asians and South Asians such as Bengalis: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Khasi_people
Posted by: @qamzardaanCan he pass as Mexican or any other Latino? Guess his nationality?
somewhere in Asia?
He's more commonly seen in Bicol since there's a sizeable population of Indians in that province. I've seen Filipino-Indians before in Legazpi, Bicol and they look similar to him. I have actually not been to Zamboanga, but I guess there would be people that could look like him.
Actually some of the pics of him appear predominantly Filipino and therefore he could pass up almost anywhere in Philippines.
could he pass up in somewhere in Myanmar(Burma) or Thailand?
