I don't know if you noticed it but whenever Filipinos post their genetic results over the internet there is a bruhaha of Latinos and Southeast Asians lecturing and scolding us over our ancestry. Indonesians and Mexicans Especially, here's a quote of a conversation of it in Reddit... Praziken: You’re missing his point lol. No one is denying that Filipinos on average get very little Spanish ancestry. The problem is when some random non-Filipino person brings it up when the OP doesn’t even mention it. It’s kinda rude because it assumes Filipinos care about being Spanish (maybe some do, but let’s not generalize) and are not proud of their heritage. I’ve seen many results of Filipinos here, and there are many non-Filipinos who bring up their very little or nonexistent Spanish ancestry for some reason even if the Filipinos don’t mention it lol. WesFincher: The reason for this is quite simple. A lot of Southeast Asians (particularly Indonesians and Malaysians) and Latin Americans (e.g. Mexicans)— like the non-Filipino in this thread who is obsessed with Filipino genetics and Filipino Spanish ancestry and is arguing about it— are very insecure about themselves. I've seen so many posts online, whether it's on YouTube, Reddit, or TikTok about Filipinos and the comments section will be filled with non-Filipinos talking about their ancestry. I saw an Instagram post about a Filipina race car driver and the comments were filled with Indonesians saying "she's only attractive because like other Filipinos she has Spanish ancestry." In all of these posts the Filipinos themselves NEVER MENTIONED ANYTHING about their ancestry, whether Spanish or otherwise. I have no idea where this meme that Filipinos are obsessed with Spanish ancestry came from. On the contrary, it's usually Latin Americans and Indonesians who are obsessed with Filipinos and Spanish ancestry. Mexicans are obsessed because they're very precious about their European admixture and think it makes them white (hilarious), and Indonesians are obsessed with Filipinos because they think Filipinos are so much more attractive than them. The obsession of Latin Americans with Filipinos is an interesting case because it's so obviously about gatekeeping and feeling superior. Observe, for example, the guy replying in this thread who is so concerned about the "exaggeration" of Spanish ancestry amongst Filipinos; now why would that matter to you if you're not Filipino, unless you wanted to gatekeep Spanish ancestry because you're insecure about yourself and your race? Latin Americans clearly think Spanish ancestry makes one superior, so this is something they preciously guard and want to keep exclusive to themselves. It's all so transparent and hilariously pathetic. The other hilarious thing is that again, as pointed out in this discussion, Filipinos rarely ever bring up Spanish ancestry. The entire thing is projection. These people should just own up to their insecurities instead of making up lies about Filipinos. Filipinos do not care about this shit, they should stop being so obsessed with Filipinos or see a therapist. Source: This, lecturing, scolding and gatekeeping isn't only in Reddit, its' also in Youtube, Tiktok, Instagram and Facebook! Look at the Bedlam in this dude's Youtube Comments Section. So what do you think of all the gatekeeping and lecturing by other ethnicities of our own ancestry?

@selurong this is incorrect because the DNA proves that the average Filipinos has barely Chinese DNA. Our Native American DNA is usually higher on Average.
