These are the benefits that the business owner would get by using the Online Single Submission for Business Licensing.
The Online Single Submission has been launched since the beginning of June 2018. Now, the government is socializing the use of the new system of business licensing to each of the governmental level and business owners.
For the government, using a single integrated portal means centralizing the investment database from every scale of business in Indonesia. While for the business owners, there are at least 5 benefits that they are getting by using the Online Single Submission system in business licensing:
1. Saves Time and Money
Previously, the manual business licensing may need more than half a year to finish. The case is clear, a single business activity may need a dozen licenses to start with. For example, a company that plans to export a commodity may need around 15 licenses from different department and instances depending on the product’s type and destination.
With the use of the Online Single Submission, the basic licenses can be retrieved in less than an hour. In addition, the data that has been submitted can be used for other additional business licenses. The positive impact of the time efficiency in the OSS is that the company may continue with their ongoing business activity.
2. Assistance is Available
The Online Single Submission system has been made simple even for the business owners who are not familiar with online technology. However, the government understands this difficulty especially for a new concept like OSS in Indonesia.
As a solution, the government provides an offline site where the business owners can come and ask for assistance in submitting the data and retrieving the Nomor Induk Berusaha (NIB) and other licenses. The assistance is available at the OSS Lounge which is located in the Ministry of Economic Affairs’ offices.3. Other Licenses are Simpler to Obtain
Once the data is submitted, it means that the company’s information has been stored in a single online archived that can be accessed both by the government and the business owners. As a note, the OSS does not approve for other additional licenses such as Izin Mendirikan Bangunan (IMB), certificate of Standar Nasional Indonesia (SNI), and other licenses according to the need of the business.
However, the submitted data and information would be available online if the company is planning to apply for those licenses. It means, the business owners or the investors do not have to repeat the process of filling out the form before submitting it. The NIB would work as the company’s digital identity and can be scanned in several related departments.
4. Accessible Fiscal Facilities
Once the company obtains their NIB, they would be informed of what kind of fiscal facilities and incentives that they would receive. The facilities included are tax holidays, tax discount, tax allowance, and super deduction tax. These facilities expected to attract more investors in doing business in Indonesia especially those who deal with international trading.
The launch of the OSS is the proof of the Indonesian government mission to make the country more investor-friendly. The OSS is one of the successions of this mission, completing the Special Economic Zone (SEZ) and the Pelayanan Terpadu Satu Pintu (PTSP) which have been launched a couple of years earlier.
