Must be a European term because I have never heard of the world the Far East referring to south east Asians.
How about Polynesians & Hawaiians? The Germans and French controls a few islands in the Pacific.

There is a place called French Polynesia, islands like Tahiti are included in this.
@sapphiresky Indonesia is very dutch influenced and German too have a few islands under their cultural sphere
very minimal impact compared to Spanish influences in the Philippines, like how they are not Christian.
to be honest, I don't think we are culturally Hispanic. My Latino friends see us as culturally Anglo and my Anglo friends see us as culturally Hispanic.
