Regional Rivalries?

Anyway, its Sinulog festival time here in the Philippines, the main festival of us Hiligaynon's rivals, the perfidious Cebuanos.

Look at them all trying to strut with their fluvial parades and shwit.

Anyway, I dont actually dislike Cebuanos because I have Cebuano friends but I just consider them friendly competition.

But they are not the only people with a purdy city in the region.

Iloilo Represent! Madya-as Kedatuan > Cebu Rajahnate.

What are some friendly rivaries between. Veitnamese regions and ethnicities?

In Mindanao there is the Hiligaynon-Lanao rivalry between Hiligaynon settlers and the Sultanate of Lanao. There's also the Chavacano-Tausug rivalry between the Republic of Zamboanga and Sulu Sultanate.

And soon with the imminent relocation of the capital from Manila to Clark (A former American military base), in Luzon island there will be a Tagalog-Kapampangan rivalry.

Even within Metropolitan Manila there are rivalries between the cities.

Certainly in my own home city there is rivarly between districts, Madurriao full of Indian businessmen, Jaro consisting of Mestizos, Molo the local Chinatown, Iloilo City proper where the port is and where fellow Filipinos live at, Villa de Arevalo where the Spanish and Mexican colonists first settled; all of our towns and districts have intense racial pride even though we do mix with each other and we are just considered one Hiligaynon people since we speak the same language although obviously we are a blend of different peoples.

But we are united in our hatred and envy fun quips with the imperial Tagalog and perfidious Cebuano.
