Obesity has reached epidemic proportions globally, with at least 2.8 million people dying each year as a result of being overweight or obese. Once associated with high-income countries, obesity is now also prevalent in low- and middle-income countries.

Except being fat isn't contagious, and doesn't result in a surge of patients that are so sick that they used up all the hospital resources. The fact is this will also affect you if you were to break a bone or get into a car accident. There are only so many doctors and nurses. My hospital is setting up tents for non covid-19 related emergencies. Imagine having your treatment outside in a tent or having to wait for a necessary surgery because there are sicker patients before you.
People tend to be selfish when they think they cannot be affected. But the reality is that once your hospital is impacted to the rim, with no more beds, resources, healthcare workers, other conditions can go untreated. People don't stop having heart attacks, strokes, babies, accidents and etc.
So please stop downplaying everything. If you aren't in the frontline then stfu and stay home. Thanks.
are you serious?
people are dying & people are losing their jobs.
