@dyno Duterte was just trying to use leverage for American involvement in South China Sea.

@dyno Chinese mindset are more shifted towards lobbying politicians that works for their own interest. The Chinese interest is to protect their choke points from the opium war & getting rid of the American encirclement.

The philippine government should have reserved offices in the Visaya and Mindanao to repel invasion forces.

@dyno  It takes money to host an overseas base. The best option is for government to hold military dtrills with foreign bases.

@james That's the final draw, it's time for ASEAN to cut ties with China by trade & people to people.

@zexsypmp23 lots of Chinese investment in Asean. Countries like Cambodia & Myanmar are tied up with China economically.

@zexsypmp23 western trade deals come with LGBT rights and BLM sympathizers. I don't think Malaysia, Indonesia will tag along  🤣

@zexsypmp23 Chinese is buying properties, invested and lent money with lots of chains attached. Not only SEA but in Africa. Even western corporations are selling out to China. SEA don’t have a lot of unity. It’s so diverse in ethnics and cultures.

@athena trade benefits and market access is the national interest. Myanmar and Vietnam are sanctioned from trading in the Western market. sanctioned can be lifted if Myanmar and Vietnam have leverage. Myanmar for example is building a pipeline for China. Once the Myanmar civil war is resolved. Investors will come to sway Myanmar from Chinese influence.

@zexsypmp23  It's a total opposite to what's happening in Asia. RCEP is already in effect, while Asean leaders are try to stay neutral between the U.S and China cold war.

@james RCEP was never meant to have China included. A sanction is being prepared once China invades Taiwan or supports Russia. Then you can say goodbye to the RCEP.

@dadadas chinese ships were spotted in the sulu sea. This is the final draw even for Duterte after he tried to be Pro-China. So now he is giving the American Military the green light for the US navy to return in the Philippines. However, it will be up to the New Philippine President to make it happen.

The Vietnamese commies threw the Chinese population out. That fomented a lot of hatred for Vietnamese in general even though we were also victims of the commies. I joke all the time Thai are more ‘East Asian” than Viet because they have a large recent infusion of Chinese. I don’t really have a good solution with what you should do. Maybe assimilation by marriage. Maybe more forced assimilation. I happened to stand next to a very chines looking girl in line at coach shop the other day. A chines tourist spoke chines to her. She said she didn’t speak chines. He asked what she was, she said Thai. Maybe look toward Thailand for guidance. Their king has a heck of a PR team. The whole country mesmerized by the monarchy.

@athena do you know how Putin justified the invasion of Ukraine, Georgia, Crimea? according to Putin he has the duty to retake all lands that the Slavic people stepped foot on historically in the past.

@athena Indonesians did the same thing but more genocidal. Malaysians pioneered systemic racism. Thais don't even like Chinese.
