The Filipino people have lost faith in the government because of systemic corruption. If only faith in the government is restored, The national mentality will change overnight from migrating out of the Philippines to nation-building domestically.

@rick-cook too much Chinese elite in the Philippines is the source of corruption. instead of giving jobs to the locals, the Philippine government is giving jobs to millions of Chinese 🤢

Lost faith in the government? Maybe the Philippines should actually be obedient to the government for a change...

Filipinos have among the lowest rate of compliant tax payers in the whole world. Most Filipinos don't even pay taxes, yet here they are complaining about the government.

@selurong My family left during Marcos Sr era. Even today, the culture of corruption carries over to the next generation. Corruption is the reason why Duterte was elected in the first place.

My mother and father didn't flee, my mom was almost tortured to death by Marcos soldiers but she never revealed the names of her comrades in the revolution.
