From 2015 to 2019, Chinese banks gave $43.5 billion worth of loans to countries in Latin America and the Caribbean, mainly on infrastructure projects like highways and ports, as well as energy and mining projects.

What's more, the guide doesn't show the enormous expressway they completed in CR like 4 years prior, from Liberia to Cañas.

What's pitiful is that it's not utilized... It should be 3x as long to have any capacity. As of the present moment, it doesn't interface with the capital, nor to the Nicaraguan boundary, nor to anything. It goes from Liberia (commonplace focus) to essentially no place.

As of now, it's simply sitting void beside some nearby traffic, on the grounds that the principle streets interfacing with and leaving from it are as yet the standard wrecked single-path third world streets.

So to get from the cash-flow to suppose the boundary to Nicaragua it's practically 300km. During top, it will take you 2-3 hours to drive the first 100km (stranded in rush hour gridlock behind brown haze trucks); then, at that point, you will breeze on the new parkway for the following 80km and get through it in a short time, and afterward you will be back on a solitary path street for one more hour.

In any case, that parkway holds an exceptional spot in my spirit. Since there are basically no vehicles on it and no police, my record on it is 220 kmh (140mph) 3 years prior.

Beijing is hoping to back and build an ambitious interoceanic railway between Brazil and Peru that could make for faster, cheaper transportation of local commodities to resource-thirsty Chinese markets.

It’s an unprecedented project in Latin America that’s already raised some flags over environmental and human rights risks, and analysts say it could be the biggest test yet of China’s growing relationship with the region.
