TEMPURA
[IMG] [/IMG]

Tempura can be good if the batter is very thin and delicate. Not every place can do the tempura batter in a crispy and thin way though but when you find that place you will go wow, this is good tempura.
It's sort of pancake like on the outside but gooey on the inside. It is also tongue burning hot ( like hot pizza, it can burn your mouth ) The sauce is Okonomiyaki sauce so it has that sweet-salty-worshester thing going on. It's very habit forming. Osaka people, even single college kids, have special Takoyaki electric frypans at home!

(My families from Kyushu but we have a Takoyaki maker too.-laugh)Ah, I can roughly imagine the taste. Now that you mentioned Okonomiyaki, I got a bad craving for it. -huh

I really can see the difference between Osaka style and Hiroshima style now. Looks like Yakisoba is placed as the bottom layer. Also, instead of mixing all ingredients together, it seems they layered one on the top. I think I like Buta Tama. Just looking at the picture and watching the video makes my mouth watering.

Someone posted this home style Okonomi Yaki recipe on the Korean site.
You can say it's fusion style inspired by Japanese Okonomi Yaki.
Of course, It has Kimchi in it. I have no idea what the taste like. I doubt that it would be remotely like the original. -laugh
Pictures below will tell you how to make so-called Kimchi Okonomi Yaki.
^-elaugh
As long as people get to eat Okonomiyaki, the variations don't matter.;)
Oddly, a lot of Japanese food taste good when Kimchi is added. I wonder if that's a coincidence or has something to do with simular cooking methods.

Smile I think it's natural that people in any neighboring countries will share some similar cooking methods and influenced each other.
Question, At my local Korean market, there is a good size section for Oden and a good size section for Soba and Udon noodles. are these meals made in some Korean homes?

People used to make noodles and so on at home but now, almost everyone buys them from the store.

Anyone likes "Tako Yaki"? I do.
