ROME 11 Meters Underground | Augustus' Meridian Line
Descend with me into the depths of the Campus Martius to discover one of the most important sites in the Rome of Emperor Augustus. Aligned with the Ara Pacis and the Mausoleum of Augustus, the Meridian measured the passage of the seasons through the signs of the zodiac.
Only a few people have been able to descend to this small underwater archaeological site. Now you have the opportunity to do so with me to see the enormous travertine blocks with bronze pieces still embedded in them.
