India is losing 50,000 people per day, the mutation has spread to other south asian countries. Underreacting to India's problems will set up for another round of failure against the virus.

India needs to receive tons of vaccines ASAP. Several people reside in close quarters where the covid virus spreads rapidly. Some of the frontline essential workers have received the vaccines and once they start to lose them then the country should almost completely shut down to prevent rapid depopulation.

They are shutting down flights which reduces the spread of the virus and yet they need vaccines imported by flight from other countries. It appears that they may actually not receive vaccines as rapidly as they need it.

Until they receive the vaccines and the infected rate begins to drop then the country could consider reopening.
