Okay, first, I have to correct one part of Moe Min's Answer as well.
Moe Min, It does look like the Rohingyas are being attacked because of their religious beliefs but seriously if you know about your own country, we don't have any prejudice against any other religion and there is no need for such constitutional solutions you suggested in a good country like ours.
The thing about the Kachin Rebels is irrelevant to this topic.
A lot of Myanmar Muslims are well respected and some even made their way into important parts of Myanmar History (List of Burmese Muslims), and the country's most famous High Schools are named after Christian Saints.
Beside Sule Pagoda in Yangon, there's a big Mosque and a Church and never has anything bad happened in that area.
The real problem is that those Rohingyas (not like Myanmar Muslims) are illegal immigrants from Bangladesh because their own country is too populated (150 Million) and they want part of the Arakan State of Myanmar as their own. Myanmar only has around 75 Million.
We let them stay for a few decades as refugees because we're good neighbors, but that does not make them citizens or even a minority ethnic group of Myanmar. Even though our country is under military control for years, the Immigration Law clearly states that Rohingyas cannot be Myanmar citizens because they were not here when we got our Independence from the British.
I have no comment about the BBC link because BBC is full of people who only listen the cries of Rohingya but not the Arakans.
Seriously? State-Sponsored Genocide? Rohingyas being attacked?
just look at this guy and the kid
Really?
Don't read too much news, sometimes they lie, just ask a local.
