Want to know why Christianity is heavily based on salvation and afterlife as opposed to other religions? Here's a short text on Bogolism, A sect of Gnostic Christianity based on a Gnostic Text. Which kind of is similar to most forms of core beliefs of Gnostic Christian

In the Bogomil and Cathar text Gospel of the secret supper, Lucifer is a glorified angel and the older brother of Jesus, but fell from heaven to establish his own kingdom and became the Demiurge. Therefore, he created the material world and trapped souls from heaven inside matter. Jesus descended to earth to free the captured souls.[103][104] Unlike Christianity, the cross was denounced as a symbol of Lucifer and his instrument in an attempt to kill Jesus.[105]

Earliest Gnostic Christianity was heavily based on Salvation (like today) but believed that the Material World was created by some Evil God or some Satan to trap souls.

And by dying, your soul is freed from the sufferings of the Material Universe that traps souls by accepting Jesus who descends to save souls trapped in the Universe.

Basically, Early Gnostic Christianity was like this.... I hate my living physical life with all its hardships so there must be a better after life that I'm destined for and this Matter Universe that traps souls is a bondage that I must escape. I must escape living (because living sucks) and I must go to the afterlife.

You can see the earlier crux of Christianity is based on hating the real world and desiring afterlife, rationalizing why we live the way we do because an Evil God created the Universe to trap souls from Heaven. A radical idea maybe. And any Christian now would denounce the Gnostic Christianity as heretics.

But is this form of Early Christianity really that different from the Mainstream one?

Even today, Christianity is heavily based on the worship of the afterlife and salvation and very little to do with what we're supposed to do while we're alive. But to better understand the current Christianity, we should also find the Gnostic aspects of the religion that did contribute to its current form.

As to why Christianity and Islam are Salvation Based religions that places too much importance on afterlife than any other religion as opposed to Judaism in which its focus was tribal. Something most critics of Abrahamism like edgy Pagans miss about what's wrong with Judaism's relationship with its children religions.
