Dit me thang nam ky......Du ma thang bac ky.

Don't know about you guys, but here in Hartford,Connecticut...when I see an asians, I'm happy as crap. When I met a Vietnamese my heart is felt with joy, start a conversation and befriended.

Seriously, no lie.
Usually when I go to a Vietnamese house party hosted by southern viets.
They sing karaoke, eat hotpot and drink.
There was one time where one of the host talked so much sh1t about me openly infront of the girls because I'm born in Canada.
I swear I came to the party invited by a mutual friend, and I don't even try pick up girls or anything.
I just wanted to meet new people and drink.
But I guess the host did not like me.

Whenever I go to a Vietnamese house party hosted by northern viets.
Theres a DJ sound system, disco lights, drinking.
And I had one really bad experience when they thought it would be funny and they spiked my Heineken with MDMA.
I guess they thought I was a loser nammer.
But the next day, I was hurting and what they did was not cool at all.

Obviously my family is from the south.
Where I live, I don't mind northerners. Because I do have some northern friends from Haiphong.
They're cool and we play street fighter together. lol
War is a time of the past, and I understand that some people cannot let go. And I understand that.
But if you put history aside, of course there are both open friendly northern and southern viets.

I have good Vietnamese friends, shitty Vietnamese friends.
Good Chinese friends, shitty Chinese friends.
Good white friends, shitty white friends.
People are people.
Another generalization thread...
You're always gonna come across sh1tty people in life that are racist or arrogant.

Personal experience.
Bad experience, and great experience for everyone.
If anything, I had the same type of good and bad experience with white people my whole life.

I doubt this has anything to do with southerers vs. northerners I think they were just idiots. Westernized idiots I have to mention. Fobs or VN in VN wouldn't do that.

North and south is just a segregation.
Its just another thing that separates us people.

If Vietnamese are bad with this, Chinese is worst on another level.
Atleast Vietnamese is the same language with different dialect.
Chinese have canto and mandarin and mainland and HK.

This type of segregation and hate upon each other is even worst.
And if anything, it all comes down to misunderstanding to each other.
But you'll get people who don't see it like that.

And those guys I was talking about were FOBs.
And because I'm a Vietnamese Canadian, I'm even more of a reject to some of them lol.

And before anyone takes what I say out of context.
Its not everyone, just my personal experience.

I think the world would be a better place if people were generally be more understanding and open mind.

Maybe because we are racist to our own more since  we have higher expectations of our kin than others.

We are racist among ourselves and among other Asians.  I remembered in highschool some of my nammer friends would constantly make fun of Northerner's accent and talk crap about Northerner's people.  They did this to Central Vietnamese too.  Some of my Northerner's friends would then switch to nam's accent when they meet other Vietnamese, and would only used their accent if they are speaking to their family.  I thought it was really odd. One of my friends told me she didn't like my friend because she was a cheap Northerner, needless, to say that closeminded friend is no longer my friend.
