Hong Kong Hypocrisy.
I wanted to make a post about this because I’ve seen so many white trolls swarming onto here to gaslight us–and to use us as “propaganda slaves” for their own lynchmob-esque desires. I will list my position in a series of points:
- We are Black, not Chinese. The story, according to white redditors, is that China is oppressing Hong Kong. I personally have done very little reading on the issue, so I’m not making a judgement either way. However, I do know this. There are no Black people being oppressed there. There are no Black Americans being oppressed there. There are not even Americans of other races being oppressed there. It’s not our business to care about every billionth thing that happens in the world.
- The US has historically and is currently committing more human rights atrocities than China. China is as of now keeping Uyghur minorities in cultural brainwashing camps. The US, as of now, is keeping asylum seekers (mostly from Central America) in concentration camps, separating babies from their mothers, depriving them of maternal contact, and refusing to vaccinate them–causing deadly outbreaks that kill them.
And of course, the US is also still imprisoning Black/Brown people with the highest per capita imprisonment rate in the world, and US police officers are routinely murdering Black people and bringing up fraudulent charges against them with zero consequences–the frequency of this is happening daily and it’s getting worse.

3) The reason whites even hate China in the first place is due to race. Whites never criticise their own countries in this way, and even Russia gets a tiny fraction of reddit’s ire these days. White identitarianism has a long record and very strong scientific support:

If you’ve spent any length of time on the internet, you should know cloaked white racism. You see it when they got hostile about Ellen Pao. You see it when they loathe Ajit Pai 10x more than Trump (even though the latter appointed him). You see it when a Black man dating a White woman appears on r/pics and it has 65% upvotes. You see it when Norwegian whaling is “cool and metal”, while Japanese whaling is “barbaric and evil”. You see it when every redditor loathes Jussie Smollett, but is largely unconcerned with the millions of BBQ Beckys and sidewalk Cindys who preceded him.
TLDR: Lebron saying that Morey “messed up” is a literal non-issue. Lebron keeps his mouth shut about American atrocities every single day so he can get paid. Now he’s just extending that to China–turnabout is fair play.

One of the MAIN reasons why Hong Kong has unanimous support on Reddit and the western media is because the Hong Kong protestors are extremely pro-white and anti-Chinese.
They wave American and British flags and accost any Asian or Mandarin speaker as being an agent of the Chinese government. White reporters from the CNN, BBC, etc on the other hand, are treated as literal heroes simply for existing.
That’s why even white supremacists and the alt-right like Richard Spencer are heavily in support of the Hong Kong protests.

Well b****y said. The hysteria , jerking off on reddit now is so cringe. Their love for HK is rooted in hating China , its a fact they want to hide behind ‘human rights violations’ and ‘fighting for freedom’ . Now their directing their justice b***r towards LeBron and its so gross. The audacity of white Americans calling him ‘a slave’ to China is really surprising, the lack of nuance and self awareness is not.
I think it really angers them that there’s a new power to ‘kowtow’ to , the fact companies, players and the US govt handle China with kid gloves , is infuriating because it signals a loss of power. That’s just American Capitalism at its finest . They don’t want to deal with this reality , so they get themselves worked up about human rights transgressions (big lol). It doesn’t help that the vitriol is turning racist against LeBron and black people , but its to be expected I guess. They’ve found a way to get their racism out there and cloak it.
This whole “controversy” is filled with so many racial undertones and dog whistling. The most blatant one seems like people comparing lebron’s “high school diploma” to Morey “MIT Degree”.
It’s the good ole my-education-is-better-than-yours trope. When in reality LBJ said Morey was uneducated on this singular issue, the dogwhistlers took it upon themselves to play the stereotype card. It’s all really frustrating honestly.
Black people are used as scapegoats by the ruling class to stop the working class from uniting against them. It’s not unlike how state propagandists are using Hong Kong to draw revolutionary potential away from the United States and directing it towards a country that the US considers an enemy. How many of the Ferguson activists have turned up dead now? How many innocent black people have been gunned down in their own homes by racist cops? How long until BLM protesters are branded terrorists, like the Black Panther Party before them?
The idea that America is some beacon of freedom and democracy is f*****g laughable. We’re only told that so that we’ll sit down and shut up instead of trying to improve our situation.
