I did expect that some nomadic culture on foot would be the ones to travel from Siberia to America first. Those groups are nomads and semi-nomads so they would have to be the ones who traveled on land in great lengths. Some of those nomadic groups are also well adapted to the cold region and high mountains and therefore they would have had the necessary survival skills to travel from Siberia to Beringia and then to America. The Natives residing in Siberia were also the closest to enter the New World. They eventually populated the Americas and adapted well to several different environments and climates. The Native American Indians were nomadic in the New World also, they were able to settle rapidly in all corners of the continent.

On the other hand, Filipinos are a seafaring culture that's more adapted to hot humid climates and therefore they would've been less likely to have traveled on foot and make those arduous treks into colder regions on land and sea.  Filipinos would have followed seafaring cultures such as Polynesians.

i don't think the top 3 is surprising at all:

0.04318910 Hawaiian
0.15793637 PYF_150BP (Polynesian individual from French Polynesian)
0.16298458 Aeta

These groups are all heavily admixed or are Austronesian themselves.  Take Aeta for example, they're about 50-60% mixed with Austronesian now, many even have straight hair.

I see. But don't you find it crazy that Filos are genetically closer to Caucasoids including Europeans than to Natives?
