To do the business activities and market research in Indonesia, you need to have a business visa. If you have that visa, you are allowed to carry out those activities in Indonesia legally. Here are the explanations for the business visa and the requirements to apply for.

Indonesia Business Visa

Indonesia business visa is such a permit given by the Embassy of the Republic of Indonesia to those foreigners who want to visit Indonesia for normal business activities and negotiations such as attending training assignments, seminar or conference and do not make any money or payment and take up the employment during the stay in Indonesia. 

Types of Indonesia Business Visa

There are two types of Indonesia business visa. It depends on the length of stay you want to have.

1. The single-entry Indonesia business visa

If you apply for this single-entry business visa, the length of stay in Indonesia is 60 days for each visit from the first arrival. You must use this visa to come to Indonesia in 90 days since the date of issuance. 

2. The multiple entry Indonesia business visa 

If you decide to come to Indonesia for multiple times, these multiple entry business visas allow you to have multiple visits to Indonesia for a year. If the validity of visa is over, you can remain in Indonesia for not more than 60 days. You cannot have the extension for this type of visa.

The Requirements for Applying for an Indonesia Business Visa

To apply for this business visa, you need to follow these requirements. There are two kinds of requirements. 

1. General requirements

The following requirements are:

- Completed online application form. You need to fill the form online by through the website of Embassy of the Republic of Indonesia in your country.

- Original passport. You should have at least two blank pages in your passport. Make sure your passport is not torn or altered.

- A copy of passport which consist of the personal identity page and some pages of the amendments or observations or revisions, and some pages of the latest Indonesian visa if you have.

- Two passport-type photographs with the size of 4 x 6 cm and the white background. Your photograph should be new and printed on high-quality photo paper.

- The original request letter to the Embassy of the Republic of Indonesia

2. Special requirements

Some special requirements are:

- The original passport with at least two blank pages and the validity of six months for the single-entry visa and eighteen months for multiple entry visas from the first day of arrival to Indonesia.

- The confirmed hotel booking, one-way ticket or the return ticket with the number of booking reference including the tickets to other countries after visiting Indonesia.

- The invitation or sponsorship letter from Indonesian person or company. The letter should include the company’s official letterhead.

- A copy of Indonesian ID card (Kartu Tanda Penduduk) or passport of the family, friend, colleague, or the counterpart who becomes your sponsor during your stay.

- A copy of the approval from Indonesian Immigration.

- The statement from your bank account in the last three months with the minimum balance of US$1,500. This document is a must. If you do not have the sponsorship or invitation, the balance from your account will cover your living expense during your stay in Indonesia.
