Man Drags Woman Multiple Blocks and Attempts to Rape Her in Flushing, Queens

April 28, 2022

FLUSHING, Queens—A 22-year-old woman was grabbed by an African-American man at the Main Street-Flushing subway station on Thursday, before he dragged her multiple blocks and then tried to rape her inside the lobby of an apartment building, according to the NYPD.

The victim was at the station at around 9:45 a.m. when the assailant walked up to her, grabbed her by the arm, and forced her to walk out of the station with him, reports Forest Hills Post.

The African-American assailant dragged the terrified woman along Main Street toward Kissena Blvd, where he then pushed her into the lobby of a building located at 41-25 Kissena Blvd.

Once inside, the suspect allegedly held the woman down and exposed his penis. Thankfully, the woman was able to break free at that point and run off before he physically harmed her, according to Forest Hills Post.

The suspect fled the scene.

The police describe the suspect as being approximately 30 years old, with a “dark complexion,” and standing about 5’7” tall and weighing about 160 pounds.

He was last seen wearing a blue baseball cap, a white face mask, a dark T-shirt with “Aeropostale New York” written across the front, dark pants, and black shoes. He was also carrying a white bag, police said.

CHP Officer Shot on I-8 San Diego

April 28, 2022

SAN DIEGO, California—A CHP officer was shot Wednesday evening on eastbound Interstate 8 near Mission Valley and a suspect is in custody, according to the San Diego Police Department.

The shooting was reported at around 6:15 p.m. on Interstate 8 near the I-805 interchange. A CHP officer was investigating a traffic collision when he had a struggle with a pedestrian that resulted in a single gunshot wound—injuring the officer.

It’s unclear who the pedestrian was and witnesses state the assailant was Asian. Multiple Good Samaritans came to the aid of the injured officer. Multiple people rendered medical aid while others physically strained the Asian man responsible for the shooting.

The officer was shot in the right thigh and was taken to Scripps Mercy Hospital in Hillcrest where he underwent surgery and is now in serious, but stable condition. The officer is an eight-year veteran, reports NBC7 San Diego.

o further details about the motive or the suspect are available at this time. Local news outlets only describe him as a 25-year-old man.

Lanes on I-8 at I-805 were closed in both directions for several hours while CHP completed their investigation. However, all lanes have since been reopened.

27 Asian Families Targeted in San Francisco Crime Spree

April 28, 2022

SAN FRANCISCO, California—The dream that is “Woketopia” is upon us as new information comes to light that 27 out of the 28 families burglarized in San Francisco are Asian-American families and there may even be more victims.

A woman, who only wanted to be identified as Ms. R because of privacy and safety concerns, told ABC7’s Dion Lim about her months of trauma after her family home in the Outer Richmond area was targeted.

“It took a while for me to go outside and feel comfortable walking around by myself and with my parents or leaving my house, it took a while to get back to normal,” she said, behind a black facemask and sunglasses.

“They drove into our driveway, all three went out and went into our house,” said Ms. R.

In December 2021, multiple masked men broke into Ms. R’s home using a crowbar-like tool and ransacked it.

“It’s just appalling… and what can be done, right?”

The SFPD launched a large-scale investigation in response to the dozens of burglaries and arrested two men linked to 28 separate burglaries in a four-month period. Another video used in SFPD’s investigation shows a home invasion robbery back in January that took place with residents inside, reports ABC7.

Dion Lim asked SFPD about leads she had received about the victims specifically being Asian.

Lt. Scott Ryan who heads the burglary unit at SFPD responded “…we do know the 28 cases we were able to charge at this time, all but one were members of the Asian community.”

“Nobody is helping our community right now. They don’t think it’s happening because they don’t see it on TV that often,” said Ms. R.

The two suspects, Steve Levy and Deshawn White—both African-American men—were found with firearms, jewelry, and cash when they were arrested in April and remain in custody.

Mr. R told Dion Lim the incident prompted her community to come together.

“Our whole block has cameras and we all helped each other install them too,” explained Ms. R.

Her family also installed a front gate.

Burglars ram truck into Oakland Chinatown pharmacy

Two Oakland Chinatown pharmacies were invaded by burglars just days apart, with a group using a rental truck to plow their way inside one of them.

Surveillance video shows a U-Haul truck pulling up to New Oakland Pharmacy in the city's Chinatown neighborhood at about 3:20 a.m. Thursday.

"Six people made a beeline into the pharmacy," said owner Kam Tam.

Another view from a camera inside the store shows the truck almost completely in the lobby after the fourth ramming, before it goes back out.

"These burglars, they are very, very brazen," said Tam, who has owned the pharmacy for decades. It caters to senior citizens in Chinatown as well as the homeless.

Tam spent much of the morning cleaning up the mess and surveying the damage left behind when the truck plowed right through thick bars, two sets of locks, and a steel frame.

"A one-ton U-Haul truck ramming your store. I don’t think anything can prevent them from coming in," Tam said.

Tam is also reeling from another break-in at another pharmacy he owns just a half block away at Pacific Renaissance Plaza.

At about 3:30 a.m. Tuesday, eight people used a crowbar to force their way into the business, also called New Oakland Pharmacy.

But they were also armed.

"I think they really want to show that they have a gun, because they passed it among themselves," Tam said.

In both cases, the burglars didn't get away with much - just a few bottles of cough syrup containing Promethazine and codeine, which can be abused.

But their motive suggests they meant business.

"They come well-prepared, because we know that they’re professionals. They all wear gloves. And also the way they park their car. You cannot see their license plate," Tam said.

Pharmacies across Oakland and throughout the Bay Area have been hit by caravans of thieves. In November, a large group of burglars invaded Wellspring Pharmacy on Piedmont Avenue in Oakland.
