breakout of 42 enslaved workers from a slave-camp casino run by Chinese kingpins in Cambodia
Cambodian human trafficking is now happening inside Taiwan itself since the publicity on this issue has scared the Taiwanese away from Cambodia. 3 victims have been tortured to death. Hundreds of captive victims have been found with at least 50 more known to be in captivity somewhere in Taiwan that the police have not been able to find so far. The police have arrested over 1000 human traffickers in Taiwan. But the problem is that most would be out immediately because they are minors or on bail or within a short time even if convicted. Many are repeat offenders. Jail sentences are too short and the profits too high. Even murder cases are sentenced very leniently. It is totally worth it for the criminals to go to jail for just a short time to come back to a pot of gold from live organ harvesting. Government officials and judges are beholden to the mafia's campaign contributions and laws are made to benefit criminals. Top government officials, including President Tsai Ing-wen have turned a blind eye to the issue and are staying silent. This is one reason the recent local elections in Taiwan turned out the way they did. The people are fed up with a government for the criminals, by the criminals, and of the criminals.

In Singapore (majority chinese) scam calls (vaccination scam, love scam, extortion scam, impersonation as authorities etc) are all on the rise, targeting elderly locals and modern day chinese diasporas. These syndicates mainly target mandarin speaking diasporas and immigrants in western countries and SEA

This scam criminal industry looks like it has its origin - China. The infrastructure & operation (barb wire fencing, forced labor & torture) are similar to the Xinjiang forced labor camps for Uyghurs. The argument that this industry brings huge foreign exchange to Cambodia, thus the half hearted enforcement against this criminal industry doesn't hold water. A crime is a crime no matter what the financial gains. UN should look into this human rights violation & not be coerced by any country not to take action. Even if it involves the Gangster of Asia (CCP).
