Or just Vietnamese. Bad habit to talk about someone in front of them. For instance a friend went to nail salon. They commented on her nails in Vietnamese not knowing she spoke the language.
the other day at the thrift store I picked up a gold sequin top. This Asian woman told me it was pretty. I didn’t know what she was could be Chinese or some southeast Asian, hard to tell. However, I determined probably correctly that she’s Vietnamese because later on, she looked at my full basket and mumbled in English “so many clothes. In a way that she was not talking to me but meant to jab at me. So, what’s that to her? There no limit to how many you could put in a cart. They didn’t have dressing rooms so I was t taken time either. I don’t think even Chinese have this low class behavior. Maybe she was jealous I got the cute top. I put it back anyway because it wasn’t cute on me.
The other day, an older Chinese woman was looking at something I was trying on and said “too big”. I was not offended by it because 1) telling someone the clothes are too big as opposed to too small is not offensive, and 2) I got the sense she was talking to me. So I don’t think I’m overly sensitive.
but within my ear reach of course “ so many clothes”.
