AIDS was discovered in San Francisco, just like Corona virus was found first in Wuhan. 

I think it's a recent thing to not label viruses by the region where they originated. But still, China played such a pivotal role in causing this pandemic and China is very insistent on not naming this virus after itself, so people are way too infuriated to accept the recent standards in naming the virus.

And if the "Chinese" label is leading to harm to overseas Chinese, then perhaps they should just use the name CCP(Chinese Community Party) virus as the Falun Gong and its media outlets are zealously promoting. It's the CCP, not Chinese.
