We're the most far away Spanish colony since you guys have to pass two Oceans before arriving to the Philippines, the Atlantic and Pacific Ocean.

We were also the most war-torn and besieged.

We also received the least amount of Spanish migration (Most settlers were exclusively soldiers, traders or priests no farmers or workers though and of these, there were barely any Spaniards, most settlers came secondhand from Mexico or Peru).

Yet somehow, despite being the farthest, least settled by Spaniards and most war-torn colony in the Spanish Empire, we turned out to be the most loyal...

Most Spanish-American colonies which have more Spaniards living there, became independent by 1833, the Philippines was among the last Spanish colonies, only being sold to America by 1898.

Investors are planning to take advantage of the humongous volume of shipping traffic passing through Tawi-Tawi.

They're taking advantage of it by building a city and trans-shipment port that would rival Singapore...

Interesting! That area has always been poor and infested with aboriginal Muslims and pirates but if this project passes through then there will be a lot of wealth created. I'm keeping my fingers crossed.
