Singapore used to have a kingdom in the island called: Kerajaan Singapura or the Kingdom of Singapura.

It was established 1299 and destroyed by the Javanese based Majapahit empire in 1398.

Apparently, they grew ridiculously wealthy and arrogant due to their monopoly of trade between India and China and so the Indonesians decided to punish their hubris by obliterating their kingdom and directed the trade away from the Straights of Mallaca to the straights of Sunda.

However, Majapahit was eventually defeated by the rise of the Sultanate of Mallaca which caused people from Majapahit to retreat to Bali or flee East.

I think we should do a Reconquista and retake the straights of Mallaca from Singapore's hubris and put the power back under the hands of Jakarta.

The Jakartans once eclipsed Singapore, (We'll not really once, but twice: RIP Keraja-an of Singhapura). Jakarta can do so again.

I want you to this because I'm sick and tired listening to Singaporeans tooting their own horns over and over again (Singapore this, singapore that; they act as if the world revolves around their island)

So Jakarta should do another Majapahit on them and humble their arrogant faces.

^^ Naah..., In the time of democracy and ASEAN integration, it is not wise for Indonesia to be an aggresive expansionist empire. It is hard enough to maintain current national unity from Aceh to Papua, and we do not need another problem/conflict. Although yes some Indonesians do aware of our Srivijayan and Majapahit past.

We like to project ourselves in constructive way, as a peaceful and benevolent force that contribute to the stability and prosperity of the region. Although because of our geographic and demographic size, we do feel as the primus inter pares in Southeast Asia. That is why we created ASEAN bloc. But actually we do expect that our neighbors, either Australia, Malaysia or Singapore, would not dare to messing with us...

Oh yeah.., correction, Majapahit was defeated by closer Javanese Demak Sultanate, not Malacca. Malaccan never invade Java/Majapahit, but yes they wrestled many of Majapahit's colonies in Sumatra and Malay Peninsula.
