Yeah it's finger food once it's cooled down. 😉
Don't we all? -elaugh
I've got to try this, so it's basicly plantain or other fruits wrapped in a lumpia skin, then deep fried?
BTW how's the Indo restaurant you've been to?

#1 I think if you call people 'pangit' they will probably think someone fooled you into thinking it meant 'hello' or something -elaugh

#2 Thanks for the tip! Do you know any dishes that wouldn't make my breath stink? Because after I showed my gf some of the pics she really wants to try it now.

#3 Looks delicious bro, next time I cook Filipino food or my variations on it, I'll take some pictures and post it here. -cheers

1.- I had that experience before and had some sweet payback Smile

2.- LOL.. Indonesian without the use of garlic is an insult, and most famous dishes contains shrimp paste. So no there are none -elaugh Maybe it will leave you with Sundanese cuisine, which is one of Indo's fav but I don't think it will be for foreigners. It's famous for the use of their fresh herbs and vegetables. Lalab is very typical:
[img] [/img]
Raw veggies dipped in sambal (sambal contains a lot of garlic hahaha)

Or Sayur Asem:

RENDANG
[IMG] [/IMG]
Rendang is a spicy meat dish which originated from the Minangkabau ethnic group of Indonesia, and is now commonly served across the country. One of the characteristic foods of Minangkabau culture, it is served at ceremonial occasions and to honour guests. Also popular in Malaysia, Singapore, Brunei, the southern Philippines and southern Thailand, rendang is traditionally prepared by the Indonesian community during festive occasions. Culinary expert often describe rendang as: 'West Sumatra caramelized beef curry'. Though rendang is sometimes described as being like a curry, and the name is sometimes applied to curried meat dishes in Malaysia, authentic rendang is nothing like a curry. In 2011 an online poll by 35,000 people held by CNN International chose Rendang as the number one dish of their 'World’s 50 Most Delicious Foods' list.

Each region has its own version. In Aceh, the Acehnese rendang contains ganja. They use it as a herb :p
Anyway, the original Minangkabau is the beeest!
