Why are some people always single?

And it's weird for a woman to stay single and not be married? But, it's acceptable for a girl to be with a guy even if she's not married to him, right? 

@kay It's hard to have it all but you can if your goals about a partner is realistic. I think many young women have unrealistic goals in a partner because they either think too highly of themselves or not confident enough.

@alectmanila you mean living together in the same house? Couples that lived together will eventually get married in the near future once their career has settled.
