Here is an example video of situation
Currently, eating rice is not recommended because of the high arsenic levels found in it with America and Japan having the highest amounts in the world. However, by consumption, Japanese consume 12 times more rice than America so if this is a health risk for Americans than it must be a health hazard for Japan. The main concerns being that arsenic can cause cancer yet there is a big inconsistency; Japan has one of the lowest cancer rates in the world. I looked it up and in a list of 50 countries with number one being the worst, Japan ranks about 43nd by average and men ranking 40th while women ranked 43rd. Strangely, of the countries that ranked lower than Japan, none ranked consistently lower in all three categories so from a consistency point of view, Japan has the lowest cases of cancer. https://www.wcrf.org/dietandcancer/cancer-trends/data-cancer-frequency-country
If the main scare of arsenic is cancer, than why is Japan - a rice based country with the second highest levels of arsenic - one of the countries with the lowest rates of cancer? I'm not doubting arsenic in the rice but, they have to do more research know exactly what they are talking about before they give recommendations that could have huge effects on individuals and industries.
