Locals in Mindanao discovered armor in 2018 of a type they had never seen before. What could these artifacts of a distant age tell us about our history, and the peoples our ancestors encountered?

Like 1 armor? Maybe the armor was traded long time ago. If the Philippines and Greece where trading in the 1st century? Then more evidence would have been discovered.

I have attached 3 photos of artifacts recently found on the Philippine island of Mindanao. One is a bronze cuirass and the other two are bronze figurines (idols?). Some people think the armor may have been Celtic or Greek in origin, but no one is really sure. The color on the armor is not a cheap fake patina. Rather, it is the original dirt which has not been removed. The two idols were found in tombs near the one where the armor was found. They did not come from any market, are not for sale, and are currently in the hands of academics, some of whom are working with the National Museum of the Philippines in Manila. I'm trying to help identify anything I can about the artifacts: their origin, culture, time period, and maybe some theories about how they may have ended up on the southernmost island of the Philippines. Any ideas or observations or suggestions would be welcome, and will be forwarded to the museum. There is a slight possibility I may be able to travel to the site where they were excavated, but because I am an American there are certain areas where I am not supposed to go. Anyway, I have to get back to China Feb. 16, unless the over-reaction to the coronavirus causes my university to shut down or postpone the second semester.

The images on the cuirass remind me of images that were present on the Chiemsee cauldron linked to Heinrich Himmler and his Nazi SS caste Wewelsburg. It was determined later this was a production from the 1930/1940s, but the images were linked to the ancient migrants habitating Germany (as such from Asian descendance, the reason for their search of their ancestors - the Aryan people - in Asia.).

Maybe the images on that cauldron were based on actual ancient artifacts and if they could indeed be linked to the Aryans in Asia it would be possible this cuirass has nothing to do with Celts or Greeks but is actually linked to Asian occupation.

Research images Nazi Chiemsee Cauldron.
