Kapuso actress-singer Lovi Poe is set to star in the Hollywood film The Chelsea Cowboy, a biopic produced by Idris Elba based on the life of John Bindon.
According to an exclusive Deadline report published on Wednesday (August 25), she will star alongside Alex Pettyfer and Poppy Delevingne.
In what was described as “her biggest English-language movie role to date,” Lovi will portray British Blues singer Dana Gillespie, Bindon's employer. Bindon’s ties with Gillespie allowed him access to high society, most notably the island of Mustique where he met the rebel royal Princess Margaret.
Gillespie also rubbed elbows with Hollywood’s who’s who of her time. Citing a biography, Deadline said Gillespie's famous lovers include David Bowie, Bob Dylan, Mick Jagger and Sean Connery.
