Conde Nast Traveler Magazine has proclaimed that Palawan is the world's best island.

I agree. It is indeed the world's best island. It has pristine beaches and reefs and the world's most beautiful environs.

Either Boracay or Palawan would be a good choice. Boracay has a good night life and day life and it caters for all ages and it's basically a 24 hour locale. Boracay is smaller in comparison but there's plenty of excursions to see and do and a lot of their activities are popular to foreign tourist and locals a like. Boracay beach is considered among the best in the world and it's well maintained for the amount of tourist they receive annually. People also visit the communities and main streets within Boracay. Boracay continues to create several more infrastructures that cater for foreign tourist so every year or so the outlook is more modernize compared to the last time they visited the place. On a daily basis, there are more foreigners than locals sometimes. Boracay has a lot of amenities that makes this place an ideal choice to visit. One day I'll visit Palawan and I hope it remains unspoiled and pristine by the time I get there, but then again I do sometimes prefer the modernization in a city - it's more convenient and safe sometimes. Palawan will take a lot longer to visit compared to Boracay due to it's size and distance from one destination to the next and transportation time to travel to those places are considerable.
